Into the Drowning Deep, Mira Grant

Seven years ago the Argatis set sail to film a mockumentary about mermaids. No-one on that voyage was ever seen again--except in horrifying footage of their death.

The footage has been called a hoax by just about everyone, but some people believe. Believe there are mermaids out there, horrible ones. Monsters that want to eat our flesh.

Ans now the network that sent out the first boat is sending another, packed with scientists, believers and unbelievers alike. Some of these people know, though. Monsters are real. They're probably not coming back from this trip. And nobody knows the worst part..

So much horror in this book! It gets very hard to put down. The mermaids are terrifying, especially since I'd read the lead-in (Rolling in the Deep, only available as an e-book now), and I knew something the characters didn't.

The book is fine if you haven't read the first one, though. It can definitely stand alone. And you should read it!
