Three kinds of people live on the moor: the heroes' people, the Giants, and the Dorig, who live underwater. Because a prince of the first people kills a Dorig for his (cursed) gold collar, the entire moor is affected by the curse.

Interesting, fast read.

A cartoonist who talks to his main characters finds a skull while looking for a neighborhood cat and winds up embroiled in a mystery.

Occasionally funny, but usually too proud of its humor, this is a somewhat predictable, somewhat entertaining novel.

Stories by one of my favorite authors. My favorites are "The Summer People" and "Louisa, Please Come Home." The essays, which were apparently speeches first, are also quite good.
