Dear Meg Cabot,

You know those lyrics you feel the need to start each chapter with? The ones supposedly written by your main character? PLEASE. STOP. I wrote better shit in high school. And I was into hair bands.

Love,
Honey

So, Heather is ready for another day of work in the residence hall when a cheerleader's head is found in a pot of chili in the cafeteria.

Heather cannot help looking into it, or else the book would not have a plot. Fun read. Except the lyrics thing.

When Scott and his family move to a cereal company's company town, Scott meets Erno and Emily, who are twins. Emily is small and pale and really smart, Erno is taller and darker and not quite as smart.

Scott gets headaches and sees magical creatures. Erno and Emily are being experimented on by the cereal company.

Weird book, great art.

A storm is raging when Bay Tanner finds a dead baby floating in a cooler. Around its neck is a root bag--magical herbs and so on.

Bay's brother-in-law wants her to find out about the bag. And then she is hired to find a man's missing wife--and she turns up dead.

Decent mystery novel, but there was at least one plot point that didn't add up. Can't remember what it was anymore, though.

Art "dealer" Charlie Mortdecai is coerced by a secret government agency into killing a guy who seems to be the only buyer for a painting Mortdecai just stole. Also people are trying to kill him.

Weird book. Compelling though, I guess.

This novel is dull, confusing, and incredibly convoluted. I only read it because it helped me get to sleep and I was out of library books.
