Some people from an Antarctic research station swim up into an ice cave and find death. The party that goes to look for them finds what looks like a UFO--and death.

Some Navy SEALs go to rescue the remaining people, only to find that the French are trying to take over the station. And once they get THAT sorted out, the British arrive. Fuckers.

Oh, and it's not a really a UFO.

There is a LOT of action in this book. It's fun to read.

This is a WEIRD smut book. Mainly because the author feels the need to throw in a bunch of shit about theoretical physics. Which gives me a headache at the best of times, but is a REAL pain in the ass when my brain is in sex mode.

See, there's this real smart dude who works for the government and also he has this weird setup at home where he controls everyone there sexually. The smart dude and his best friend recruit this woman they both have an eye on to play sex games with them.. and she falls for both of them and they fall for her. Whatever, I guess, but the ending doesn't make much sense. If she loves both of them, why would she marry the one guy?

Sex is okay, though.

This is the story of the author's time in high school, hanging out with Jeffrey Dahmer. That is mostly what it focuses on, but there is some stuff about Dahmer's latest crimes.

The art seems suited to the creepiness of the story.

It's a weird graphic novel, though. Mainly because it seems like one of those "I was near a serial Killer" stories. That's how Anne Rule got her career. Still, I had no idea what went on in Dahmer's childhood, so I was interested.

Novel with lots of old photos throughout, about a kid whose grandfather is killed. The kid goes to the island where his grandfather spent World War II and find a time portal to a fixed point. This is where many people with strange powers live.

The story is okay, but also seems written entirely to squeeze in as many photos as possible. It's a strange concept which doesn't strengthen the plot.

The hero of this book is a dude who looks 21, but is actually an ancient druid magician. He runs an occult book store and has a dog he can communicate with. Also, actual goddesses are like, all over him to fuck them.

In spite of the fantasy self-insertion hero, this was a fairly fun read. I mean, I'll read the next one.

But what was the deal with the dog? He didn't have advanced intelligence, it was supposed to be an average dog. But it wasn't, believe me.

So, it turns out I should have left well enough alone and quit with the second book of this series. Because in this one, Dexter is up against--get this--a god. And when he first runs up against this thing, his "Dark Passenger" leaves the building. So he doesn't kill people for the whole book, either. Lindsay was obviously out of ideas.

Oh, and both his girlfriend's kids are little serial-killers-in-training. For crying out loud.

Patience McKenna comes home and finds her apartment locked. She thinks her neighbor is in there, but she isn't. There IS a corpse in there, however.

This is a pretty good mystery novel, somewhat funny and with a gratuitous kitten. I figured out who the murderer was, but I liked the thing anyway.
