After an accident, Edgar is trying to recover from injuries, brain damage, and the end of his marriage. So he relocates to an isolated island in Florida. There he discovers he has artistic talent mixed with some pretty violent precognition.
I'd heard the hype about this one, how it was old-school King, and I was skeptical. Everything King writes is hyped, it's like his fans have no discrimination whatsoever (I should know, I used to slaver when he rang too).
But I liked this one. Yeah, it needs more editing, there's too much foreshadowing, and the ending made me want to check and make sure I wasn't reading Bentley Little. But it didn't suck, and it wasn't too fucking stupid.
And that's a start.
