Six kids with wings have escaped from a laboratory and are hiding out in the woods somewhere. Then one day, some goons pop up while the kids are picking strawberries and take away the youngest one.
This novel is a fast read, but after a few hours sleep, I started to realize how flawed it is. Right away, it's annoying that every fifty pages the author reminds us that it was four years since the winged kids escaped the lab. And I realize that putting kids with wings (that work, did I mention?) in a story means realism is out the window, but I'm not sure that logic should be as well.
