This was a birthday gift to put in my novelizations of bad movies collection. Haven't actually SEEN After Earth, but all indications are that is will bite huge wind, so..
Peter David is a decent writer though, so I was curious enough to read this. To my surprise, the novel is pretty good. David had to add a whole lot to the story to pad out the book, however, so once again, not high hopes for the movie.
Why am I dissing this movie before I've even seen it? Well, the whole thing was conceived by Will Smith as a vehicle for his son.. but all indications point to the kid not being a good enough actor to pull it off. There is a character named Cypher Raige. And M. Night Shyamalan has only directed one good movie.
The names are a definite problem. At one point, David refers to a character named Paige Raige. I flipped off the book.
